In our analysis, we did not see any plans requiring the use of anakinra before approval of Arcalyst or Ilaris, likely because it is not FDA approved. Additionally, in a recent
review article by Church et al, authors note that although effective, anakinra's frequent and high dose injections are not always well tolerated.
