As a follow-up to our psoriasis policy comparison, one of our members asked the following question: "Do you know if most groups are covering Stelara under pharmacy or medical benefit?"

Anonymous feedback:

"[Our organization] covers via Medical. As I recall, FDA guideline requires administration of this drug (although by SubQ) to be done by a “health care professional.”

we are finding that most offices do not want to stock stelara.

Most of our plans cover it under the pharmacy benefit and have it shipped via our specialty pharmacy directly to the physician's office.
