Default Re: CII day supply limits in PA

It appears that there are no specific CII quantity limits set by the PA Department of Health or the State Boards (Medicine and Pharmacy).

Under the federal regulations, the DEA has proposed to allow physicians to prescribe up to a 90-day supply of Schedule II controlled substances during a single office visit, where medically appropriate.

use caution with information contained in post Re: CII day supply limits in PA

Having experience in PA as a retail pharmacist and as a member of a formulary management department, my experience would support Diana's response. There is talk of allowing prescriptions up to 90 days (currently only 1 month allowed) to reduce the expense of office visits, etc.

There are no quantity limits per RX that I am aware of by law in PA. Many CII medications are opioid type medications and therefore placing quantity limits on them is difficult to justify.
