- Biography:
- Mark Rubino is the President of RubinoRx Consulting LLC. In his current position Mark is responsible for strategic and tactical solutions with a focus on Specialty Injectables, PBM, and Drug Therapy Management.
Prior to this venture, Mark held the position of the Chief Pharmacy Officer at Aetna, where he was responsible for strategic planning and implementation of clinical pharmacy programs and products. From 1995-2002, Mark spent 7 years with Medco as the Vice President in 3 different areas, including Specialty Pharmacy, Clinical Services, and Clinical Programs. From 1991-1994, he also served as Aetna’s head of the Pharmacy Department and Director of Field Operations. Additionally, he served as the Director of Pharmacy for the Community Health plan, where he had implemented in-house pharmacy operations for this statewide staff/group model HMO.
Mr. Rubino is an active member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP). He is on the Editorial Board for Decision Maker News in Managed Care and the Novartis Pharmacy Benefit Report.
Recently he served on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Task Force on Oral Chemotherapy, as well as AHRQ’s Panel on Integrating Cost-Effectiveness Considerations into Health Policy Decisions.
He is currently on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy and the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Pharmacists Foundation.
Mr. Rubino earned his pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut and holds a Masters in Health Care Administration from Seton Hall University.
